Amazing songwriters and instrumentalists Brad and Andrew Barr from the Slip release their full legnth debut as the
Barr Brothers on Tuesday September 26. Go grab a copy or download one on i-Tunes. Those of following this group over the last year or so (and lucky enough to have grabbed a pre-release of the album at a live show) know that they are something really special. A beautiful blend of traditional folk, polyrhythms, blues guitar, african grooves, experimental rock, and wonderful lyricism. Somewhere between Ali Farka Toure, Ry Cooder, Paul Simon, Wilco, and Zeppelin. And by the way, the have a harp player. The song
"Beggar in the Morning" might just be one of my all-time favorites.
